George Douglas (1917-1922)
Scroggie wrote of Douglas;
"Mr Douglas will put himself into the work, for he is not afraid to "take off his coat" to his task, and I am confident that you will do the same, so that by utilising all your energies undreamed of things may be accomplished".
FE Marsh wrote;
"He is consistent in life, wholehearted in purpose, dependent in faith, careful in details, prayerful in spirit, fervent in soul and blameless in character".
Before pastoring Bethesda, Douglas pastored New Prestwick Baptist Church, Ducan Street Baptist Church in Edinburgh and North Leith Baptist Church.
Douglas began his ministry in Bethesda in December 1917 and faithfully pastored until 1922.
